The size and number of fins in any fish can differ from another fish. Generally, fishes of same breed have same number of fins but it can differ. Fishes have streamlined body which helps them swim in water. As you see in the above picture, fishes have different kind of fins. Each of them has their own function. Fins can be in pair or unpaired. Unpaired fins help fishes to maintain balance while swimming. The fin near their tail, called "Tail Fin", helps them move forward, acting like a propeller.
